The Friday Five: Bubblewrap, Hair Salons & Headbands

ONE // Glossier Bubblewrap

As a huge Glossier fan and former employee, I’ve been anxiously awaiting for the brand to release an eye cream. We knew it was coming, and let me tell you, it’s amazing! I filmed a review + first impressions video which will be up on my YouTube channel on Sunday, but to give you a preview, Glycerin is the second ingredient, it’s filled with hyaluronic acid and a selection of natural extracts. It’s ultra-hydrating and leaves your under-eye area looking awake.

TWO // Speaking Up at the Hair Salon

So I had an interesting experience at the hair salon this week. I went in for my usual balayage, cut and Olaplex treatment, however my colorist left the lightening solution on my hair for so long, that my hair turned grey/purple!! Of course this is not my fault, however as someone who has gotten my hair colored since I was 15 (so for over 10 years), I know how long I usually sit for, and I didn’t speak up. Even with the corrective-color, it still wasn’t what I wanted, and I left the salon disappointed. Reminding myself and others this week to speak up when you’re in the chair!

THREE // Revolve Headbands

I ordered this cute headband from Revolve recently and could not stop wearing it this week! It’s a pretty blush tone, great for Spring and summer. This type of headband is on-trend right now, and great to switch up if you’re been wearing a lot of pearl hair clips like me!

FOUR // New Stores in NYC

TheRealReal, LoveShackFancy, Wandr Beauty and Fabletics are all on my list to visit this weekend! TheRealReal is a store I’m most familiar with online, so I’m excited to visit IRL in-store. They sell used designer handbags – and while I’m not in the market for one at the moment, it’s fun to see them in person and dream! Second, LoveShackFancy just opened up a store in Bleecker Street in the West Village (picture above is outside the store). I’m in love with the brand and the store is a girly dreamland! Wandr Beauty is a beauty brand I’ve been meaning to try because of Refinery29’s recent video with Lindsay Ellingson (co-founder of the brand) and her complexion looked flawless after using the products while traveling. Fabletics is having a pop-up shop and I’m excited for a more affordable but cute workout line!

FIVE // Dream Chanel Shoes

I’d like to thank Pinterest for inspiring me since Freshman year of college. I was aware of Chanel slingbacks, and while I love all things Chanel I wasn’t in love with the classic beige/black toe combination. I didn’t know that other options were available, until, Pinterest put this front and center for me. The white and beige combination is just so elegant, so classic, so clean and perfect. Every girl has that one dream pair of shoes (or 20), so I will be definitely saving up!
